尾牙原本應該是一場犒賞。但對許多員工來說，尾牙更像下班後的另一場加班：不能缺席、要配合鼓掌、被點名玩遊戲時還得笑著上台。

對福委來說更是如此。別人在吃飯，你在確認流程；別人在抽獎，你在找得獎者；主管臨時想多說幾句、音樂沒有下、投影片跳錯頁，第一個被叫到的也是你。

就連老闆也不一定真的輕鬆。他期待大家玩得開心，又擔心現場太安靜、氣氛不夠熱絡，只好不斷問：「大家開不開心？」

我們想做的，是把這些壓力接過來。讓同事不用勉強陪笑，讓老闆自然盡興，也讓籌備了好幾個星期的福委，終於可以坐下來好好吃一頓飯。

好的尾牙主持，不是逼大家更嗨。有人喜歡上台玩遊戲，有人只想和同事聊天；有人期待抽中大獎，也有人希望安靜吃完這頓飯。好的主持人會觀察現場，找到適合這間公司的節奏，而不是要求所有人用同一種方式表現開心。

該熱鬧時，我會把氣氛帶起來；該讓大家用餐時，不會用過多談話打斷交流；主管致詞、頒獎或表演登場時，也會自然地把注意力交還給台上的人。尾牙不尷尬，不是因為主持人說個不停，而是每一個環節都被妥善安排，讓大家發自內心地放鬆、發自內心地跟著一起鼓譟。

A year-end dinner is supposed to be a reward. But for many employees it feels like mandatory overtime — you can't skip it, you have to clap along, and when your name gets called for a game you have to smile your way through it.

For the organiser it's even harder. Everyone else is eating while you're checking the rundown. Everyone else is at the lucky draw while you're chasing down the winner. The moment the MD wants to speak longer, the music doesn't cut, the slide deck jumps — you're the first call.

What I do is take all of that off your plate. So employees don't have to fake it, the boss can actually enjoy himself, and the person who planned this for three weeks can finally sit down and eat.

Good MC work isn't about forcing everyone to be louder. Some people love the games, some just want to catch up with colleagues, some want to eat quietly. The right host reads which room this is — and finds the rhythm that fits, instead of demanding everyone celebrate the same way.

When it's time to bring energy, I bring it. When it's time to let people eat, I step back. When the CEO speaks or an award is given, I return the focus naturally. A dinner that flows naturally isn't built on non-stop talking — it's built on every segment being set up so well that people genuinely want to cheer, laugh, and let loose.
